Working together on workload

Friday, May 11th, 2018

In 2016 a research report ‘A marked improvement?’ was published in collaboration with the Oxford University Department of Education and the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF). Associate Professor Velda Elliott (Departmental associate OUCEA), Professor Jo-Anne Baird, Associate Professor Therese N. Hopfenbeck and DPhil student Natalie Usher from OUCEA were authors on the report.  The Department for Education has recently produced a video drawing on this research into effective marking strategies and how teachers can use the evidence within the report to revolutionise their marking approach and reduce workload. The video has been produced as part of the government’s commitment to reducing unnecessary teacher workload.
