Hopfenbeck co-edits CIDREE Yearbook 2014

Tuesday, November 18th, 2014

Therese Hopfenbeck has co-edited the CIDREE Yearbook 2014 with Frode Nyhamn. The book is entitled “From Political Decisions to Change in the Classroom: Successful Implementation of Education Policy” and is available to download here. In this book, articles are drawn together from implementation initiatives in ten different European countries. The book enables us to identify the strategies we use and why, then reflect on whether our experiences should encourage us to reconsider these strategies. Why do some initiatives reach the classroom, while others stop somewhere along the implementation chain? There are a number of perspectives on and approaches to the process of implementation. What they all have in common, however, is the focus upon teachers as agents for implementation of education policy.

CIDREE is the Consortium of Institutions for Development and Research in Education in Europe. It is a self-managing network of educational bodies that play a recognised national role in the field of curriculum development and/or educational research. CIDREE was set up in 1990 with a view to establishing closer working relationships among European educational systems.
