Jo-Anne Baird appointed Professor II at University of Bergen Monday, March 7th, 2016

Jo-Anne Baird has been appointed Professor II at the University of Bergen, Norway to work with SLATE in co-operation with Director Barbara Wasson and her team. The Centre for the Science of Learning and Technology (SLATE) aims to generate empirical knowledge with relevance for educational practice in the broadest sense, at the intersection of learning, learners, technology, and pedagogical practice and advance the frontiers of all the sciences of learning and technology through integrated research. OUCEA will collaborate with SLATE in the years to come on several projects, specifically related to assessment for learning.

Dr Yasmine El Masri wins Seedcorn Grant Monday, February 22nd, 2016

Dr Yasmine El Masri has been awarded funding to conduct a systematic review on judging demands and predicting task difficulty, starting in April 2016. The award was granted by the Oxford University Department of Education under the Small Seedcorn Grant scheme.

Christine Paget publication Monday, February 15th, 2016

Christine L. Paget, a DPhil student at OUCEA, has published an article in a special issue of the journal Assessment in Education: principles, policy & practice: Educational Assessment in Latin America. The article, co-authored by Lars-Erik Malmberg and Dale R. Martelli, is entitled Brazilian national assessment data and educational policy: an empirical illustration.
