Dr Victoria Elliott becomes OUCEA Research Associate Thursday, October 16th, 2014

Dr Victoria Elliott has become an OUCEA Research Associate. Velda has returned to the Department of Education as Associate Professor in English and Literacy Education after completing her DPhil at OUCEA in 2011. Since then she has been a Lecturer in English in Education at the University of York and Course Leader for the PGCE in English with Drama at the University of Warwick Institute of Education.

Daniel Caro releases new version of ‘intsvy’ Friday, September 12th, 2014

A new version of the R package ‘intsvy’ has been released. This new version includes tools to analyse data from the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) and visualisation tools in addition to already existing PISA, TIMSS, and PIRLS analysis functions.

Norwegian Centre for Learning Environment and Behavioural Research in Education Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014

The Norwegian Centre for Learning Environment and Behavioural Research in Education held a seminar at OUCEA on 1 September. Carol Brown presented her research on students’ identity and Professor Unni Midthassel gave an overview of current research being undertaken at the Agder Project. The Agder Project is a new project funded by the Norwegian Research Council which aims to look at quality in nursery schools in Norway, supported by international research in the field. Professor Pam Sammons is one of the experts involved in this project.
